Description

Discover the new 🦘 WALLABY ALUCAMP, the semi-rigid roof tent that combines lightness, sturdiness and quick setup.
Designed to offer the best balance between a rigid shell and a wallet tent, it combines the advantages of both worlds:

Available in 4 sizes - 160, 190, 220 and 250 cm - the ALUCAMP adapts to every need, from the adventurous couple to the large family.
Thanks to its all-aluminium structure and 340 g/m² RIPSTOP polycotton fabric, the ALUCAMP is resistant, insulating and durable, even in the most extreme conditions.

Installation takes just 2-3 minutes, on two roof racks or a complete roof rack, whatever the height of the vehicle.
Theextendable aluminum ladder (2.30 m) allows easy access even on high pick-ups, vans or 4×4s.

💡 The ladder is equipped with a quick-release fastener, making it easy to store inside the vehicle when traveling.
The ladder can also be left attached to the roof, but in this case it is advisable to strap it down securely and provide small protections to prevent wear or scratches to the shell, as a ladder left outside remains more exposed to external aggressions (rain, stretching, splashing, etc.).

The side hatch for a heating duct makes it easy to connect an auxiliary heater, so you can enjoy your tent all year round, even in cold conditions.

Anti-condensation mattress Improves thermal comfort and prevents dampness under the mattress (creates an air space under the mattress).
Interior insulation Ideal for cold nights, it improves interior temperature and overall comfort (creates an air gap between the walls to raise the temperature in the tent without increasing thermal shock).
Additional roof rails For attaching accessories (board, kayak, solar panel, small storage compartments, etc.) directly to the upper hull, without interfering with opening and closing.
Tent annex : set up directly under the tent to create an additional sheltered living space - ideal for a table, dining area or extra sleeping space, while remaining perfectly protected from wind and rain.

Product compatibility

The ALUCAMP tent is compatible with most modular aluminum roof racks (Wallaby, Rhinorack, Frontrunner, etc.) as well as with most freestanding awnings and bivouac accessories.

Gallery compatibility

Since aluminum brackets are soft and rust-proof, they can be safely re-drilled to adjust the mounting center distance or to create a customized assembly.

💡 On a 135 cm gallery, the tent can be centered or slightly offset.
On a 125 cm gallery, it will be more off-center to one side to leave space for an awning or accessories.

Compatibility with awnings

As the ALUCAMP is a semi-rigid tent, it doesn 't have a bulky side shell (unlike hybrid tents), making it perfectly compatible with all Wallaby FREE awnings (360 / 270 / 450) and other freestanding models. Its automatic rods make it even more compatible, as the awning won't get in the way when inserting the rods.
For best results, we recommend using a "non-centered" assembly on the gallery, so that the tent and awning are evenly distributed.

Compatibility with accessories

Longitudinal rails on the upper hull allow accessories to be attached via M8 bolts:
solar panels, additional bars, nets, small boxes or travel accessories.

Fasteners - Installation instructions

Each ALUCAMP tent comes with a universal fixing kit, suitable for most roof racks and roof bars (distance between fixing rails 68cm).

Binding compatibility

Crossbars up to 4 cm high and 10 cm wide (longer screws or wider counterplates are available for larger dimensions).
Sliding system along the entire length of the tent to adapt to bar center distances.
Stainless steel fasteners: sturdy, quick and easy to install
Compatible with Thule, Norauto, Feu Vert, Rhinorack, Frontrunner and other original equipment bars.

Recommended positioning

For optimum load distribution and stability, the roof bars should ideally be positioned:
- at approximately 1/4 and 3/4 of the total length of the tent,
- with a tolerance of ±15 cm depending on the vehicle and roof rack used.
🧭 Case in point:
For an ALUCAMP 160, the poles can be positioned between 25 and 55 cm and 105 and 135 cm from the front edge of the tent.
This positioning allows a slight overhang at the front or rear, without compromising rigidity or safety, provided the tent remains well balanced on the vehicle's center of gravity.

Step-by-step assembly

Position the tent centered or slightly off-center on the poles (depending on whether or not you have an awning).
Slide the brackets into the bottom rails.
Align fasteners with bars, then tighten progressively.
Check stability and symmetry before riding.
Average installation time: less than 30 minutes with two to four people.

Additional fasteners and enlarged counterplates are available on purchase for specific galleries.
A tightening check is recommended after the first few kilometers and after every long ride.
